Finding your Flow

I want to dive into a topic that’s been present for me lately—a theme that’s popped up in my life and with friends and clients. It’s all about reassessing how we do everything to create more flow, ease and alignment in our lives.


Flow vs. Friction

So, let’s get into this idea of flow versus friction. Lately, I’ve been feeling this strong collective energy of really examining how we approach our daily habits. It’s not just about what we do, but how we do it. For example, I noticed that my morning yoga or pilates practice, which used to feel amazing, started to feel a bit sticky (I know it’s an odd word, but hopefully you know what I mean). You know that feeling when something no longer feels like it’s flowing? So, I decided to switch things up and move my practice to the evening. Oh my goodness, what a difference it’s made! My day, especially my morning just flows so much more right now. And that’s just what is aligned for me right now in this moment … as with all things, that can change, in the same way it used to feel great in the mornings! This is why we should regularly check in with all aspects of our lives, because what is in alignment, and what feels in flow - is changing everytime we grow, expand and evolve!


Check-In With Every Area of Your Life

Now, I invite you to check in with all the different areas of your life. Think about your relationships, daily routines, work/business, and even your hobbies. Ask yourself:

  • Where do I feel flow?

  • Where do I feel friction?

  • What feels good? What doesn’t?


If you don’t regularly check in on what’s aligned, you might discover that some things need to be completely removed from your life (not just how you do them). Eg. Maybe you’ve been spending too much time scrolling on social media, and no matter when you do it—morning, noon, or night—it just doesn’t feel good anymore .. in which case, this is great! Removing things that are no longer in alignment is SOOOO good for our energy!

It may be you notice some things need to be moved around, or your method of doing them needs to be changed to feel more in flow ... eg. If you have your own business and use social media to market yourself, how is that feeling? How does it feel to create the content you create? What feels flowing, and what feels like it is more of a friction energy? If there was something that was no longer in flow, what would it be?

You deserve to feel good every day. Our Spirit Guides are always reminding us of this. Although you may think that certain things shouldn't be enjoyable, there are always things we can shift that are in our control that can make things feel more flowing. Let's say you are doing something everyday that is negatively affecting your energy and vibration ... that is compounding every day. But what if, you made some small changes and it felt so much better ... that will also be compounding - but now in your favour! What seems like a little shift can make a huge difference, and as you know, in the world of enregy, all it takes is a tiny energetic shift, and your entire reality can start to change.


I remember when I ran a clothing brand. For years, it felt aligned, but eventually, I felt that sticky energy creeping in. The success was there, but my heart wasn’t. I knew I was being guided to step away from it, and focus purely on my personal brand. It was a hard decision but my goodness, the moment I did it, so much started arriving into my life and business because I re-aligned myself. I opened my energy back up to flow. This is obviously a big example, but I always receive some sort of expansion every time I make a choice to feel more flow, no matter how small a shift it was.


Embracing Your Unique Rhythm

We all have different cycles and energies that influence how we feel. What works for one person might not work for you, and that’s completely okay! If you feel most creative in the morning, don't force yourself to meditate or do journaling if that doesn't feel like it's flowing, instead harness that creative energy! Use that time for writing or working on creative projects. A lot of the time, what isn't flowing is because we are ignoring our natural energetic rhythms It isn't about not doing the meditation in this example, but maybe moving it to the evening when your energy feels more grounded and internally focused. Not only will this feel more flowing, but also you'll get more out of your creative time in the morning, and your meditation practice if you are working with your energy, not against it!


It’s all about listening to your body and adapting your routines to what feels good right now. If you’re forcing yourself into a practice that feels out of alignment, that’s your cue to switch it up!


Final Thoughts

It just feels like right now, there's just such an opportunity to really assess everything in your life, really look at all the different areas. The different areas of your life and then all the all of the little things within that, You know, like the people you spend time with, where you spend time with them, what you do with them, every aspect of your business, your social media, your website, how you say things, how you talk about things, how you have your sessions, every single aspect of that. Your day, your habits, your rituals, what you do, how you do them. Think about everything and think how or what currently doesn't feel flowy? What currently do you feel some resistance with, some friction with? How can you make that feel even better? How can you improve that? How can you bring flow? What's your alignment in this? And, one of my favourite questions .. if you didn't know how other people did it, how would you want to do it?


There’s always an opportunity for more flow, and that’s the beauty of it.
